Add your webmaster site with Google Search Console
Google Search Console will allow you to monitor, maintain and troubleshoot your site’s appearance in Google search results. This will help you understand and improve Google’s visibility of your site. Herein lies its importance as soon as possible once you launch your website. You’ll need to do this every time you create a domain subdomain, or add a new protocol (eg migrating from http:// to https://). You need to add your site with Google Search Console webmasters. If you haven’t added Google Tag Manager to your site, you can check SOP-002 “Install Google Tag Manager on WordPress”. The site owner or analytics administrator keeps track of those results on the Google Search Console website. This process takes about 15 minutes.

Verification requirements: You need to set up Google Analytics on your website. If you haven’t done so yet, you can check SOP003 – “Check and Setup Google Analytics on Your Website Using Google Tag Manager” or SOP004 – “Check and Setup Google Analytics on Your Website Using WordPress Plug-In”.
In the Google Search Console tool, on the left side of the screen, select your site address.
Then tap on Settings in the menu on the left side.

Verification requirements: You must have access to your website to modify your website code. For this SOP, we will be editing the code on the WordPress site.
Click the arrow in the HTML Tag line.
Copy the meta tag by clicking “copy” next to it. (Note that there are directions where the code should be pasted). Leave the Google Search Console open inside your web browser tabs.
Log into your WordPress admin panel yourdomainname.com/wp-admin.

After selecting your Domain, click Start Verification.
You will be redirected to the Domain Provider and asked to verify Domain ownership by logging in and authorizing Google to access your account. Verify by manually updating the DNS record.
If you don’t find your Domain in the list, you need to add new DNS records to your DNS configuration. In one of our SOPs, we recommend using Cloudflare Nameserver to get a free CDN and SSL, so we’ll explain how to do it with Cloudflare. If you use any other nameserver (like GoDaddy), type on Google “how to modify your DNS + registrar name” to find a guide online.
Click copy.
You should see a “Copied to clipboard” message pop up at the bottom of the page.
Leave Google Search Console open at all times in any tab of your browser.
Go to cloudflare.com.
Click “Login”.
Enter your credentials and press “Sign In”.
Select the domain name you want to check.
Click “DNS” at the top of the screen.
Click “+ add record”.
Choose “TXT” from the dropdown menu.
In the Name box, type: “@”.
Now paste the text you copied from Google Search Console.
Click Save.
You should see your new DNS record.
Go back to Google Search Console and click Verify.
Note that sometimes you have to wait up to 48 hours for the changes in the DNS record to take effect, so don’t panic if you can’t check right away.
After successful verification, the message “Ownership Verified” will appear.
Now your site has been added to Google Search Console webmasters, and your ownership has been verified correctly. You only need to have one validation method active. But if you have more than one method, you don’t have to worry about accidentally changing something inside one of them. Your data will appear in Google Search Console after two days.
